Conferences and seminars...

In the very heart of the Warka apple-growing region the 12th Scientific and Technical Conference was held on 25–26 April 2019, under the motto: “Polish Apples – Technical Progress in Fruit Growing and Processing”. The two-day event was attended by over 100 representatives of fruit-processors as well as wine and apple concentrate manufacturers, joined by scientists, laboratory staff and representatives of companies dealing with trade and distribution.

Sessions and discussion panels...

The organisers of this year’s conference cared for an abundant agenda, comprising many speeches and lectures supported by interesting multimedia presentations and discussion panels, which provided a perfect opportunity to exchange ideas. Within the first panel, Dr Bożena Nosecka of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics presented the data related to manufacturing, exports and trends on the markets of fresh fruit and juices. Further, the representative of Calvatis, Paweł Czeczko, discussed the corrosion of non-ferrous metals and steel. A particularly interesting lecture on the membrane technologies applied in juice processing was given by the representative of Pall Poland, Marek Jastrzębski. The crowning of the eventful day were networking discussions at a glass of juice, during which knowledge, ideas and vision for the juice-manufacturing sector were shared. On the second day of the conference the participants learned about the methods of improving the safety and quality of fruit and vegetables intended for processing and the conditions of marketing ecological products.

For specialists and technologists...

At the beginning of May (8–10 May 2019), the “Mikołajki” Hotel located on the Birds’ Island hosted the specialists and technologists of the juice-manufacturing sector invited to the seminar by the Merkur Group, the sole distributor of AB Enzymes in Poland. B&P Engineering took active part in the event as its co-organiser. One of the lectures was given by Marcin Rykała, a representative of the Marketing Department, who presented examples of equipment modifications made for the individual needs of the customers. The attendants of the lecture could also watch a multimedia presentation on the operations of the B&P Group and the company offer in constructing systems accompanying the production processes. Further lectures were given by the representatives of the following companies: PCI Membranes, Algerchem GmbH, Optiflow, Endress+Hauser, IBPRS, JARS, Eurowater, ASiRAL, AB-System, and Furex. The final accent of the first day of the conference was a cruise around the Mikołajskie Lake and a common feast – a perfect time for discussions and having good time in a special atmosphere.        

Great interest...

Nearly a week later, on 14–15 May 2019, the representation of B&P Engineering consisting of Wojciech Gurbisz, Wojciech Mazurek, Marcin Rykała and Piotr Bieniasz took part in another seminar for the manufacturers of fruit juice concentrates, organised at the Blue Diamond Hotel in Nowa Wieś near Rzeszów. The event co-organised by EATON and B&P Engineering provided the invited guests with many inspirations and extensive knowledge as well as the opportunity for business discussions. The agenda of the first day covered a multitude of speeches and lectures, whereas the attendants could visit the previously prepared presentation zones. The visitors at the B&P Engineering stand were mostly interested in the juice and concentrate production lines offered by the company, as well as stainless steel tanks and devices. They were provided with detailed information about the company services, machinery and production capacity. They could also attend a lecture and a multimedia presentation on the activities of B&P Engineering.

Post-seminar reflection...

The seminar organised in Nowa Wieś was highly acclaimed. The guests enjoyed many interesting presentations by great lecturers who disclosed valuable knowledge, the results of interesting research and provided inspiration in new technologies and solutions which may contribute to freeing the potential of the juice-manufacturing sector. The atmosphere of the event was very friendly.
